Abstract

In this article an analysis is made of the people of Tabasco environmentally displaced during the flood disaster of 2007, including the related factors of social vulnerability. A population survey was taken to learn the demographical, social, and cultural characteristics related to the post-flood displacements, including the return of some of the victims and the intentions of others to permanently migrate. Findings showed a high return rate for reasons of culture and a personal capital situation, a resumption of daily life, and a lack of desire to migrate to other regions. Based on these results, future adjustments are suggested for attending the population displaced by the floods.
