Abstract
Pays: The Balkans
Méthodo: no fieldwork. The methodology is determined by the fact that no environmental migration data exists for the region. The researcher has no other option than to assemble the knowledge base of the analysis from different (sometimes contradictional) sources.

Var. envi :- During the last decades in Europe, environmental migration was the most evident and visible in the Balkans. An important reason for this was the war-induced environmental degradation in the West-Balkans. Besides the tens of thousands who moved away from the land-mined and chemically polluted regions, however, floods and industrial pollution has also caused serious environmental damage and forced a significant proportion of inhabitants to temporarily or permanently leave their homes. p.48
